Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Sanyo EM-Z2100GS Microwave Oven with Built-In Grill, Black and Stainless SteelCustomer Review: best freaken microwave ever Summary: 5 Stars
ive never written a review before, for anything, ever. this microwave is worth it though.
before i bought this microwave i was looking through reviews on this page and almost ended up not buying it because i read a couple negative reviews. i even bought a panasonic microwave first, fortunately i hated the panasonic, everything cooked too fast and unevenly. i then returned it to my local blue n yellow and got this in its place.
best microwave ive ever owned. it may be a little slower than other microwaves out there but you eventually get a feel for how it cooks and things come out nice. the really great thing is the built in toasting element. not so much for the stand alone toasting which takes a bit longer than a conventional toaster but the results are just as good. it comes with a mteal grill stnad that you put ontop of the glass revolving table. ive found that without the "grill" you cann keep food warm using turns bread to toast in under 5 minutes. where the toasting element i think really shines is the combo buttons. 1 button give you a mix of 30%microwaving 70%"grill" the
my general rule is for cold or room temp food that you want reheated but don't want to loose as much of the crispiness that it had when it was fresh. use combo 1, this wont make miracles. sorry. but it does do a much better job a keeping things crispy than a standard microwave. i like it for left out pizza. frozen chimichangas or burritos are better when the tortilla isn't steamed from constant microwaving.
combo number 2 is 60% microwave and 40% "grill" i like using it mostly for frozen things.
the stainless interior is easy to clean and looks fancy.
the control scheme is a bit foreign but after you have used it a while you become familiar with it and end up liking it. it makes it easier to add or take away time as the food is cooking, and reminds me of those old analog kitchen timers/egg timers.
i do think thats its lame that for the preset cooking time for items(like popcorn) arent labeled as the foods you would cook rather they are labeled A1 through A9. there is a chart inside the door which tells you what they all mean but it really would have been nice if i didn't have to do that.
oh and the popcorn setting doesn't work out well for me.
that is all.
im happy with my purchase and recommends it. my friend bought one recently based on my recommendations and he is also very happy with it. that could be you!
