Customer Review: Great Alternative to Zo Roaster

I initially set out to purchase the Zojirushi EF-VSC40 1300-Watt Electric Gourmet Roaster but decided on the Sanyo mostly because of the huge price difference, and I liked the idea of controlling the top and bottom heating elements. The Zo gets hotter, but I didn't think that justified the huge difference in price. The Sanyo roaster cooks very well, and it cooks quickly.
The roaster does a fantastic job with salmon. I roasted a fillet today, and it was moist from top to bottom. I thought the tail end would be dry, but it wasn't. I left the skin on, and it was crispy and slightly charred which gave the salmon a light smoky flavor. While the salmon was resting, I switched to the mesh grill and roasted asparagus that was lightly coated with olive oil. The entire meal took less than 20 minutes to prepare. The salmon cooked in 11 minutes, and the asparagus was perfectly roasted in 5 minutes.
The Sanyo roaster is easy to use and easy to clean, plus if the base of the roaster is lined with foil, that's one less thing to wash. The racks are easy to clean.
I am satisfied with my purchase and recommend it.
